THE LORE OF ELARION

WILD CLANS

The road will appear when it is time to walk.

THE CREATOR HAS A PURPOSE

The Creator made the world. He made the land beneath their feet, the creatures that cross it, the waters that sustain them, and the people who live beneath its sky.

To the Wild Clans, creation therefore cannot be without purpose.

They do not believe that every purpose must immediately be understood. Nor do they believe that every mystery must be solved simply because people wish to know its answer.

What the Creator intends, He will reveal when the time comes.

THE DISCIPLINE OF WAITING

Waiting in the wild lands is not the same as doing nothing.

A hunter waits. But while he waits, he watches the wind. He reads the ground. He listens for movement beyond sight. He knows when pursuit will drive the quarry farther away—and when hesitation will cause the moment to be lost.

Waiting is not the absence of action. It is the discipline of knowing when to act.

SIGNS ALONG THE WAY

The Wild Clans do not expect the Creator's purpose to arrive as a complete map.

A path may first appear as a change in circumstances. A meeting that should never have happened. A danger that closes one road and leaves another open. A stranger arriving at precisely the moment no one expected them.

They watch. They remember. They wait to see what follows.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

A traveler crossing the wild lands rarely sees the whole journey at once.

The Wild Clans do not believe they must see the end of a road before taking its first step. Nor do they expect the Creator to reveal tomorrow simply because they are afraid of what today requires.

The next step is enough—when the time comes to take it.

PEOPLE WITHOUT WALLS

Many outsiders first understand the Wild Clans by what they do not see: few great cities, few monuments, borders that may not appear clearly upon a map, histories carried by people rather than stored within vast halls of records.

Among the Wild Clans, kinship, oath, memory, hospitality, and obligation may bind people across distances where no wall has ever stood.

What cannot be found in stone may still endure in memory.

THE KEEPERS OF MEMORY

Stories among the Wild Clans are more than entertainment. They carry routes once traveled, warnings, names, promises, failures, old acts of mercy, and memories of moments when waiting ended and someone chose to move.

For the Wild Clans, memory does not need stone in order to endure. Sometimes a voice is enough.

WHEN THE TIME COMES

The Wild Clans do not claim to know where every road leads. They do not believe every mystery must be solved. They do not expect the Creator to explain His purpose simply because they wish to understand it.

They live. They watch. They remember. They wait.

But waiting is not their final purpose.

The road will appear when it is time to walk. And when it does, they walk.
